Loss of Pregnancy

Reflect on your experience, honor your baby, and learn how to revive and restart.

Dear mama,

I am so sorry for your loss.

There are no words to describe the grieving journey of a lost baby, but what I can say is that you will experience various healing stages that inevitably do lead to hope and strength to begin again.

Miscarriages generally occur for reasons outside of your control and nothing can be done to prevent or stop it from happening. However, I assure you, most women who have had a miscarriage do go on to have a healthy pregnancy in the future. What’s important is knowing how to best take care of yourself. both physically and mentally, so that you are ready, on a holistic level, to bring a new life into this world.

“I carried you then, and I carry you still, in my heart.”

If ending your pregnancy was a personal choice, I commend and honor you for the bravery and resilience involved within making such a difficult decision. I can only assume that there are countless emotions that are circulating through your mind and heart. Please know that this is safe space for you, and that I am a passionate advocate for your right to bodily autonomy.

Emma Limburg

Functional Nutritionist, Doula & Midwife’s Daughter

I am not a mother, myself. However, I grew up constantly surrounded by mothers and their babies; attending births, witnessing ultrasounds in my living room, sitting in my mum’s office, and constantly asking her questions. I, then, went on to become a babysitter, followed by receiving my doula certification, both birth and postpartum, as well as served as a live-in nanny for a newborn for two years.

Although I haven’t given birth myself, I have developed such a strong passion and admiration for motherhood. It is one of my greatest joys in life to support mamas and their partners in their journey of creating new life, while also helping them find balance within their own health and wellness.

It would be my honor to serve as your guide as you explore motherhood and all of the beauty that comes with it!
